All aboard for one of the most theatrical bar pieces on the tracks. This vintage Japanese “1880 Iron Horse” decanter train is part novelty, part conversation piece, and part old-school barkeep fantasy. It includes the locomotive-form carrier, the original amber glass decanter with cane-pattern paneling and gold webbed decoration, two original shot glasses, and the metal stopper/pourer assembly. The train is richly detailed with brass-tone trim, moving side rods and wheels, and a red-lined rear compartment that cradles the decanter beautifully. It has the kind of presence that turns a shelf, bar cart, or study into a scene. Original amber decanter present. Two original shot glasses included. Train body presents very well with lovely vintage character. Wheels and side rods move. Original music box mechanism is present but not currently working. Stopper / pourer assembly is included, but the cork is broken, so it should be considered. Non-working / display use. Bottle still in good condition and could easily substitute a new stopper to be fully useable. General age-related wear, light scuffs, and patina consistent with vintage use. Made in Japan mark present. A wonderful centerpiece for the home bar, library, train room, or collector’s display. Even at rest, it feels like it is waiting for a toast. A barkeeper’s centerpiece with locomotive swagger, brass gleam, amber glass, and old-world mischief. Even with the music box silent, this piece still has plenty to say.
