A very handsome crystal decanter by Cristallerie de Portieux. I believe this company has now joined with Vallerysthal, but this piece precedes this. The decanter has its original label, and has an acid etched signature to the base. It has lens cutting all around the lower half of the bowl and around the neck. The quality of this decanter is quite superb. It is extremely weighty, at 2kg. Beautiful cutting, and the quality of the glass is incredibly clear and crisp. The decanter has never been used and is in pristine condition. It is quite a large example, measuring 14 inches high and 6 inches at widest point. It is fairly deco in style, and also a classic style. One detail I love is that when the stopper is taken out, it sits very nicely on its faceted edge , and doesn’t roll away off the table – ingenious!
