A remarkable piece of Italian glass from the early to mid 20th century. Very reminiscent of the work of Vittorio Zecchin for Venini Glass in Murano. The decanter is a tour de force of glass blowing and applied glass techniques with a beautiful pink color, and deep cobalt glass applied ruffles on handle, prunts around base and stopper and a thin ribbon of blue on belly of decanter. The stopper is incredible with a pink glass blown into a clear glass. The handle is clear with the Cobalt ruffle applied to it. The piece measures 11 high and is in excellent condition with no chips or nicks. The only rough spot I feel is on the lower curl of the handle where the glass was snipped after it was applied to the decanter. It was not polished off on one side. It is unsigned but clearly the work of a true artist. A fabulous piece for any fine glass collection. For the advanced Murano glass collector, published bottle or lidded vase in “a doppio incalmo” glass, the central band in “mezza filligrana”. Circa 1956 by Paulo Venini with 3 line acid signature to base. Measures approximately 14 inches tall. In very good condition with no damage. The table I used was uneven, so the pictures may look tilted, be assured this piece is perfectly made and rests perfectly flat.
