Rare pattern thousand eye/ hobnail bubble all over, gourd top and bottom, embossed cherries and grapes with leaves in the center, honey amber glass decanter bottle with original matching stopper. Only flaw noted is the stopper liner is missing, with blown art glass quality. Mid-century 1900s early vintage decanter with applied top with side seams stopping at the neck. A very tall decanter 19 7/8″ tall with the stopper (just a bit under 20″), 4 3/4″ across the gourd area, 3 3/4″ across the center at the widest embossed part, 1 5/8″ across the rim that is over 1/4″ thick, 3 3/8 across the bottom rim. The stopper is about 6 1/4″ long, about 2 1/8″ across the widest point, 1 1/2″ stopper stem length that is 3/4″ across the bottom and tapper up to 5/8. No chips, cracks or stains. There is a rough spot on the inner top rim that is made in the glass. Rarer pattern shape for the embossed fruit. Beautiful display piece that would be usable with a stopper liner, perfect fall color as you can see in the photos that are taken in direct sunlight. Look at the photos closely for details on the thousand eye hobnail bubble, they are placed in certain spots for reflectiveness in locations that are meant to catch your eye, you should be able to see it in the stopper photo, if you need more pictures with up-close detail, please feel free to request it. It may depend on your monitor or viewing device how well you can see the fine details. It gives it a sparkle. If you are not familiar with the pattern, it is basically a faceted bubble type.

Beautiful Antique Thousand Eye Eyes Large Pitcher Decanter —- a unique find — blown & pressed vintage clear glass EAPG. The business has been based in the Washington, D. Area for many years. This beautiful old clear glass decanter / pitcher in the thousand eye / eyes pattern was blown into a four part mold (and a three part mold was used for the stopper). Several companies made this pattern, so we will have to leave it up to the experts in antique glass to determine which company made this fine and rare pitcher / decanter. The exact dating of this large hobnail glass collectible also will be left to the experts. The clarity and quality of this piece (including the blown base) indicate an early date. It is in good used condition. There are no cracks. On the bottom of the stopper, some little marks are either very small chips or imperfections from the glass molding process. The only surface “roughness” is from the pontil marks. We have never used it; it has just been displayed. Inside, around the perimeter edge of the base, there is a slight white ring. We never washed the inside, but the new owner might want to — to make this piece even more perfect. On the stopper some of the convex eyes in one area on the lower half have little “dimples” on the tips — they did not completely fill in with glass in the mold. The clear section above the thousand eyes cylindrical “body” initially appears to have some “moisture” on the inner surface —– but it is actually a characteristic of the glass itself in the transitional area going towards the narrow neck of the spout. Height with the stopper in under 11 1/2. Height to the top of the handle 9 3/8. Diameter of the base under 4 1/2. Maximum width (including the handle) under 6. This is one of the most beautiful old pieces in the thousand eyes pattern that we have owned over the years. Although we cleaned the exterior (and the stopper) before the outdoor photo session, we saw that we missed a couple of little spots of old residue from tape or price tags. We don’t know if it show up in the photos, but we have since done additional spot cleaning. All items we sell are from a pet free and smoke free environment unless prior owner history is noted above.
