Orrefors Edward Hald Cut Crystal Glass Decanter Bottle Susanna & Elders Vintage Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Orrefors wheel cut crystal bottle or decanter. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This piece features cutting on the front, back, and top; the pictorial decoration depicts a scene from the biblical story, Susanna and the Elders. In this scene, two men are spying on Susanna as she bathes. This bottle has not stopper. It measures approximately 7 1/4 inches tall, 5 1/8 inches long, and 2 3/8 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 3 pounds 2.7 ounces. This would be a nice addition to a collection of vintage Scandinavian art glass. Identification This item was designed by Edward Hald for Orrefors of Sweden. It has engraved markings beneath. The date code beneath is C6, which corresponds with a production year of 1958. Condition There is no stopper, as found. There are no chips or cracks. There is some spotting and fogginess to the interior, as found; I have not tried to remove this. There are wear scratches beneath, and a scattered, fine scratch here or there elsewhere. Nils Landberg worked for Orrefors from 1927 – 1972. The crystal decanter measures 11 1/2″ high x 8″ wide. It was made in the 1950’s. Signed on the underside Orrefors with the glass studios numbering. Condition is very, very good. No chips, cracks or repairs. The ground stopper is in excellent condtion. Only under magnification was I able to see some minimal very fine light surface scratches on the underside that are hard to notice. Enlarge photos to see details. Thank you for your interest.

Vintage Orrefors, Sweden Crystal Decanter With Blown Red Glass Stopper. Elegant Mid-Century Modern vintage crystal decanter with blown red glass stopper by Orrefors (Swedish, founded 1898), c. Engraved signature to base Orrefors. Solid, heavy mid century modern mouth blown Scandinavian crystal glass decanter. Designed by Swedish glass artist Nils Landberg. Body features a circular flat panel on opposite sides that slant upwards from the bottom making the shoulders thick at the top. Red blown glass ball shaped glass stopper I believe is not original but fits perfectly. Original sticker matches stopper. No chips, cracks or repairs. Mild surface scratch lines on the base. Orrefors Signed “Maja” Vintage Glass Decanter W/stopper. This decanter is hand painted with a flower pattern and signed by designer Eva Englund. The illustrator is Arne Lindblom of Sweden.
