Vintage Italian Murano Venetian Glass GIROLAMO LUXARDO Cherry Wine Fish Decanter Green 1969. Rare Venetian glass fish decanter with beautiful shades of green, gold and silver flecks in heavy glass. Original tags still on bottom portion and never opened (please read below as ALL Alcohol has been dumped out). Is currently has colored water in it. The cork closure is easy to remove. Measures approximately 10 1/4″ tall and fish is approximately 9″ long and depth of base is 5. In very good/excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Hard to find Luxardo decanter. Date 1961, model Curva Vaso in alabaster green to white. Which in person is a mint ombre. No chips or cracks. Note there is a crease in the glass in the handle area, this isn’t a crack. Also a white mark inside the glass. Some tiny white marks inside the glass in the darkest area. Bottle is empty and cork was put back in. Note the cork has cracked in half and a portion fell to bottom of bottle. Due to the cork being in place I haven’t cleaned the spout of dust that has settles into the grooves. Measures approximately 10″ by 6″ by 2.75. Som etimes it’s quite a bit cheaper. Sometimes I use in my pictures to help with size and give a better idea of color. Listing is always for the item only listed in the title and description. Don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions. Italian Cherry Wine Luxardo Cherry Ardo bottle – original foil labels are as shown in picture- AMAZING fish stopper top. I have shown several pictures of this piece and honestly none of them do this piece justice. The gold flecking and color in the fish is just amazing! The bottome of the decanter is etched IN MURANO (ITALY) FOR LUXARDO 1969. It measures 11″ tall from top in to bottom of bottle- from fish lip to end of longest tail fin 10″. It is very heavy! The color of the fish is more of a teal green – gold flecks in fins and tail and silver in body of fish. Sorry to say it WILL NOT fit in a flat rate priority box so going to have to Pay the Piper. Very beautiful Antique Vintage Murano Luxardo Seguso Hand Blown Art Glass Liquor Decanter with Alabastro Fish. This piece is entirely hand blown and beautifully decorated. It is of excellent quality and sports a perfectly round polished pontil on the bottom. This is a sign of excellent quality glass as seen in other top makers such as Steuben glass etc. The fish sculpture is beautifully done. The fish topper unscrews and is detachable from the base portion of the decanter. The decanter appears to have the original cork and liquor. I did not attempt to open the bottle, however it does appear that it has not been tampered with. There is a green foil label that reads Girlamo Luxardo 1821 Excelsor. There is another green foil label on the bottom which not really legible. This is a substantially large piece measuring 9″ long by 11.5″ tall. It is in excellent condition with no damage. History: At the fall of the Venetian republic in 1797, Zara was designated the capital of the Kingdom of Dalmatia, under Austrian sovereignity. A citizen from Genova, Girolamo Luxardo, was sent to Zara as consular representative of the Kingdom of Sardinia; he moved there with his family in 1817. His wife Maria Canevari was especially interested in perfecting a “rosolio maraschino”, a liqueur produced in Dalmatia since medieval times and often made in convents. Her husband Girolamo founded a distillery in 1821 to produce Maraschino. After 8 years of research and perfecting the product he obtained an exclusive “privilege” from the Emperor of Austria: this was a valuable and cherished acknowledgment of the superior quality of the Luxardo liqueur, and today the firm continues to be proud to bear the denomination of: “PRIVILEGIATA FABBRICA MARASCHINO EXCELSIOR”.
