This vintage hand-blown green glass wine decanter features a functional ice chamber, a hallmark of mid-20th-century Italian glassware design intended to chill wine without dilution. The distinct emerald hue and organic, slightly asymmetrical silhouette are characteristic of traditional European glassblowing techniques. Collectors value these pieces not only for their historical utility in social dining settings but also for their decorative appeal as quintessential examples of retro barware. Market value is driven by the piece’s structural integrity, the clarity of the glass, and the presence of any original decorative elements, such as the raffia or cord accents often found on these vessels. These decanters remain popular with vintage enthusiasts looking to add authentic mid-century charm to their home bars.

On the very bottom of this blue decanter, there is a little rough area. I don’t believe it to be a crack, but there is a little rough spot. I show it in the last couple of photos. I try to put my finger by it so you can see it upon first Inspection I never even saw it , but I double checked it today and noticed the small rough area. I have three of these beautiful glass decanters. I have a green one listed and then this blue one and then a clear one. They are stunning and Rare! The stoppers at the top have a little plastic around them to fit nice and tight in the neck of the bottle, but that plastic is deteriorating and breaking off. The blue one the plastic around it is not broken off to where I can get water inside the stopper so the stopper looks a little cloudy, but it just needs rinsed out. These bottles will look amazing in someone’s window glass collection. This listing is for the blue bottle.

Unique blue vintage Italian Empoli (mid century) glass decanter. Also called “genie bottles” because of the shape and tall and unique bottle stoppers. It is in excellent vintage condition – no chips or cracks and stopper is intact. It does not have the original “Made in Italy” sticker but includes original matching decanter stopper. These colored decanters were glass-blown into many different molds of unique shapes and sizes and in a wide variety of colors. Perfect mid-century modern décor and a beautiful statement piece due to the impressive size and texture. Height (w/stopper) – 14. Height (w/o stopper) – 9 1/2. Base Diameter – 6. This is a hard one for me because I would love to keep it and add to my personal collection. Alas, it will only be on my mantle until it sells. Thank you for your interest.
