Orrefors Edward Hald Cut Crystal Glass Decanter Bottle Susanna & Elders Vintage Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Orrefors wheel cut crystal bottle or decanter. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This piece features cutting on the front, back, and top; the pictorial decoration depicts a scene from the biblical story, Susanna and the Elders. In this scene, two men are spying on Susanna as she bathes. This bottle has not stopper. It measures approximately 7 1/4 inches tall, 5 1/8 inches long, and 2 3/8 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 3 pounds 2.7 ounces. This would be a nice addition to a collection of vintage Scandinavian art glass. Identification This item was designed by Edward Hald for Orrefors of Sweden. It has engraved markings beneath. The date code beneath is C6, which corresponds with a production year of 1958. Condition There is no stopper, as found. There are no chips or cracks. There is some spotting and fogginess to the interior, as found; I have not tried to remove this. There are wear scratches beneath, and a scattered, fine scratch here or there elsewhere. Vintage Orrefors Polished Crystal Spirit Decanter Evard Hald 1933. This lovely piece is in excellent condition. The decanter is made from a very high quality crystal that has been mouth blown, hand cut and polished with precision. Made by Orrefors it was designed by Edvard Hald in 1933 and is one his most enduring shapes. The piece is free of damage with no chips, cracks, staining or clouding. There are a few tiny scuff marks. It is signed to the underside and clearly reads Orrefors H 2495-111. The decanter is 235 mm tall to the top of the stopper and approximately 130mm x 55mm at the widest part. The decanter is heavy and has the brilliance, sparkle and clarity one would expect from the highest quality crystal. Please note this item is original and not a copy or modern day reproduction. The decanter is made from a very high quality crystal that has been mouth blown, hand cut and polished with precision. Made by Orrefors it was designed by Edvard Hald in 1933. The decanter itself is free of damage with no chips, cracks, staining or clouding. There are a few tiny scuff marks. It is signed to the underside and clearly reads Orrefors EH 2498-11. The stopper has a shallow flaked chip to the side of the base as shown. This is hidden when the stopper is in place. The decanter is 305 mm tall to the top of the stopper and approximately 75mm x 75mm at the widest part.
