Authentic, antique, original hand-blown decanter with hand-cut facets that circle the bottom and neck, an etched laurel leaf design around the shoulder and the initials “J T” at center front. Lot includes the original Sunburst stopper, in Excellent condition. Made by the Keene Marlboro Street Glassworks in Keene, New Hampshire, in the 36-year period from 1815 to 1851. Despite some cloudiness in the glass, this unique and rare antique from a well-known, early New England glassworks is a rare and beautiful find that displays beautifully. Decanter measures 9 1/2″ tall (11 1/2″ tall with stopper) x 4 in diameter at the shoulder and base. Lot weight is 1 lb. Estimated package weight is 3-4 lbs. Vintage St Louis Glassworks Crystal Decanter Etched Lion Swags Pattern Thumbprint Vertical Cuts France Liquor Carafe Ground Glass Stopper. Stunning crystal decanter by Saint Louis Glassworks. The decanter is not signed because before 1936 crystal factories did not sign or engrave their brand. This hand made French crystal decanter has the etched LionHead-Swags pattern. The clear crystal decanter has a baluster shape with faceted body and long neck, tapered wide rim with a glorious round blown crystal ground glass stopper. It features a thumbprint pattern on the neck with vertical cuts on the body and the stopper. The carafe liquor or wine bottle is in beautiful condition with no chips, no cracks and no crazing. There are some scratches on the bottom from sitting on a mantle or bar. There is a teenie flea bite on the bottom. The design is in extraordinary condition with fine craftsmanship both in the etching and the cut crystal design. It measures 10 1/2″ tall to the top of the rim and 12 1/4″ tall to the top of the stopper. It measures approx 5 diameter at the widest part.
