Vintage Waterford Irish Crystal Prestige Master Cutter Claret Decanter. For sale today, we offer a vintage Waterford Irish crystal claret decanter. The claret decanter is one of Waterford’s most iconic and admired pieces; it is catalogued as part of Waterford’s Prestige (or Heritage) Collection. Only Waterfords master cutters expertly craft these intricate and elegant decanters by hand. The decanter has the mark of authenticity, an acid-etched Waterford name in Gothic font on the rim of the foot. Mark is faded and difficult to photograph. The decanter is approximately 12″ tall with a 4″ diameter base. Width is approximately 6. The body of the decanter is in excellent preowned condition with no scratches or breaks. There is a tiny amount of wear in the neck where the stopper sits, and one invisible fleabite on the rim of, and a tiny bit of roughness on the edges of cuts under, the base that I can feel when I run my finger over it. I think the roughness was created when the decanter was cut by the artisan rather than by damage. The stopper is broken in half.
